Knight and Day

by Dante Rosario on September 3rd, 2010

If you’re looking for a romantic comedy with good laughs and action then ‘Knight and Day’ is a movie that you or you and a significant other should see.  I thought it was going to be similar to ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’ or a less dramatic ‘Mission Impossible,’ and it was.  There are some scenes in ‘Knight and Day’ that could have been scripted for ‘Mission Impossible,’ because they were just that impossible.

‘Knight and Day’ is about a woman who finds herself falling for a man who is a secret agent who is involved in a very dangerous mission.  As they flee around the world they both realize that must rely on each other to survive.

I thought this film was a good comedy mixed with a good amount of action that helps build the story and keeps the viewer interested.  ‘Knight and Day’ doesn’t’ use up all of the funny scenes in the movie trailer as some comedies do.  There are some instances where the ends of scenes aren’t finished and the characters end up in a different city or continent.  It made the film a little choppy and seemed rushed.

I thought the writing and dialogue between the characters, especially Cruise and Diaz was good.  The use of humorous quotes and quips are timed well throughout the film.  It’s not like watching a movie and you know when to expect a funny scene.  ‘Knight and Day’ will surprise you with laughter.

Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz complimented each other well in this film by performing their roles very accurately.  They both utilized their ability to make the audience laugh and feel emotional.
