Knight and Day

Knight and Day is a movie about a woman who is on her way to her sisters wedding and “runs” into Tom Cruise’s character who has a secret that gets them both into crazy situations and they have to figure out how to get out and stop everything that is happening.
The movie is shot with a lot of overhead shots which takes away from the action sequences because it doesn’t make you feel like you are there you feel like you are in a helicopter or something and seeing the action which makes it hard to see. Some sequences are just all over the place with the camera which makes you wonder what’s happening and it takes away from what you are trying to watch.
The acting in the movie was on and off by certain characters. Tom Cruise did a great job of acting in the movie his character of Roy Miller was very believable as secret agent with the way he blends his action with some very good comedy as well. This was a Tom Cruise performance he can be proud of. Cameron Diaz also does a great job of convincing the audience that she is confused on the whole situation she has been faced with and also delivers some some good comedy as well. Peter Saragaard wasn’t very convincing in his role as Fitzgerald, he looked bored and not in the movie. It could of just been the character but he just didn’t look like the actor he has been.
The Director James Mangold had a different role with this movie because this is a comedy action movie and he really hasnt done this kind of work with his works such as 3:10 to Yuma and Walk the Line which were movies a delivered a good movie. In this movie it just wasn’t something that flowed well together and things just kept happening with no reason for them to happen which throws off the movie.
All in all this movie was something i expected a little more from but it didn’t deliver and I would rate it a 5 out of 10 because the action was spotty but did have some good comedy in it.
5 out of 10
